Lommel SK will soon be taken over by a well-known Israeli lawyer. KVC Westerlo will, in turn, soon have a Turkish owner. This means that two more Belgian professional football clubs will fall into foreign hands, with the goal of making significant profits through a transfer carousel of young foreign footballers. Preceding Lommel and Westerlo were KV Kortrijk, STVV, Mouscron, Eupen, Cercle Brugge, Lierse, OH Leuven,Union, Tubize, and Roeselare. This makes a total of no less than 12 out of 24 Belgian professional clubs, half of them, in foreign ownership.
